Saturday 25th April 2015 - Bellringers Open Day

The Bellringers Open Day saw 40 visitors in Church to hear and see the bells rung. Tea,coffee,cakes and biscuits were available and created a nice atmosphere. A Quarter Peel was rung, for the first time at St.Peters on six bells from 10.15 - 11am.

A web cam was rigged up so the actual bells ringing were visible on a laptop, also a model of a bell and wheel were in church to explain how it all works. The afternoon session had prospective ringers tolling a bell and then 10 lucky people tried their hand at ringing handbells to end a brilliant day.

The Rutland Times and Melton Times both showed the picture of the 6 ringers who completed the quarter peel and gave a report of the Day. The Quarter Peel has also been recorded on the Campanophile Website.
